FAQ

Answers about CupertinoClicks, macOS permissions, and how the app is built to behave.

Why does macOS ask for Input Monitoring?

To play sounds while another app has keyboard focus, the system classifies that capability under Input Monitoring. You can revoke access anytime in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Can CupertinoClicks see what I type?

No. The app maps key codes to which local preset sound to play. It does not log or transmit your typed content.

Can I use my own sound files or tune every key?

Not in this product. CupertinoClicks ships with fixed bundled presets only—by design, to keep setup simple.

Will this drain my battery or slow typing?

Sounds are short WAV playback on key events. If you notice an issue on a specific Mac, turn off listening from the menu bar.

How do I uninstall or reset permissions?

Remove the app like any Mac App Store download. To reset Input Monitoring, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring and adjust entries for CupertinoClicks.

Is the app sandboxed?

The distribution target is the Mac App Store with sandboxing; exact entitlements follow the shipped build and App Store review.

For how we handle data and keyboard access, see Privacy & safety.
